Nature Care - Drop in Session

For people caring for a family member or friend with a mental health condition.

Are you aged between 7 and 60+ and caring for a family member or friend with a mental health condition?

Through the year Lindengate offers free drop in sessions for caregivers to:

  • Have a break: Take time away from caring in a natural environment and improve personal wellbeing.

    Learn: Gain new skills and enjoy a wide range of activities from gardening and conservation to arts and crafts.

  • Connect: Meet new people.

Each session also has a Pop Up Cafe running so the person you are caring from can also come along and have a cup of tea and cake whilst you enjoy your session.

This course is commissioned by NHS Oxford Health as part of the National Healthcare Inequalities Improvement Programme.

  • Young People

    These sessions is for young carers who provide support for a family member with a mental health needs . During these sessions you will learn conservation, bushcraft, and gardening skills as well as other activities such as pond dipping, campfires and nature based art. These sessions will be a great way to meet other young people who are also carers.

    7-12 year olds
    Every Thursday 10:30am-12:30pm
    from 1st August-29th August (exc 15th Aug)

    13-15 year olds
    Every Friday 1:30pm-3:30pm
    from 2nd August-30th August (exc 16th Aug)

  • Ethnic Minority Women

    This course is for Ethnic Minority women who provide support for family members or friends with mental health needs. During the sessions you will explore our kitchen garden - growing and cooking vegetables as well as learning gardening skills and spending time connecting with others through storytelling and campfires.

    Dates:
    Every Thursday 10:30am-12:30pm
    from 5th September-3rd October

  • Adults

    Grow your personal wellbeing through this course, aimed at adult carers who provide support to a family or friend with mental health needs. During these sessions you will learn about gardening and conservation as well as exploring enjoy time around the campfire - cooking, reflecting and connecting with others.

    Adults (18+)
    Every Thursday 10:30am-12:30pm
    from 10th October-7th November

    Older Adult Carers (60+)
    Every Friday 10:30-12:30pm
    from 6th September-4th October
