Volunteering at Lindengate
Volunteers are essential to Lindengate’s success. They bring new perspectives, differing life experiences and a wide range of, sometimes specialist, skills to our organisation. The presence of volunteers enables us to improve our delivery of a quality service.
Volunteers also help raise funds in support of a sustainable future and promote public awareness of Lindengate.
Our volunteers will be working in an environment where there are people with various mental health issues. These range from mild to moderate. The work that they undertake is mainly with the Gardeners (Service users), either in the gardens or supporting other activities including cooking, preservation and sale of Lindengate produce and other craft activities.
If you want to work with Gardeners then you will receive induction and full training. There will always be a responsible person on site and should there be an incident that you are uncomfortable with there will be support readily available. Lindengate is not a therapy or counselling service and volunteers are only expected to listen supportively in a compassionate and caring way. Supporting a Gardener can be very fulfilling.
Other opportunities include:
- Supporting and organising fund raising events
- Marketing and Social Media
- Preparing the gardens for user activities
- General maintenance and development of the site facilities
- Administration and finance
If you would like to BE A PART OF SOMETHING SPECIAL AND HELP US MAKE IT HAPPEN, we are always looking for enthusiastic individuals to volunteer and be part of our team. No matter what you have to offer, we are sure at Lindengate that we will have a worthwhile opportunity for you to enjoy. And don’t worry if you do not have green fingers! Empathy for people with mental health needs is more important.
If you have, or have had a mental health need yourself then it may be more appropriate for you to come to Lindengate as one of our Gardeners. If you’re unsure then please contact us to have a chat.
If you have any difficulties please either call us on 01296 622443 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We treat all personal information in the strictest confidence.
